We are thankful that every once in a while a day of rest rolls around ...... so here we are in the town of Novasota, TX (population 6,000 or so). It is good to been a town with services. We have two conenvience stores, a pizza hut, a steakhouse, Subway, a salon and spa, the library, and a wal-mart all within walking distance. That's good becasue on our days off, we sure don't feel like getting on the bike to ride anywhere, and then there is also the issue of how to cary back on your bike all of your purchases.
And, of course, as on our day of in Kerrville, it rained. However, we donn't mind the rain on our day off. At least we don't have to bike through it! This was a perfectly relaxing day off, my bike got a sparking clean up, the chain oiled, the sprokets cleaned and it just some goood ol'e TLC. Laundry was done, catching up with friends by telephone and pretty much just hanging out....it was a good day.
Tomorrow we continue East, we start a new section of our Adventure Cycling maps, and there is no elevation section on this map, could this possibly mean no climbing! I hope. While I do love the rolling hills, I'm ready for a change.
